SPRAY RECOMMENDATIONS
Conventional Spray
Airless Spray
|
A typical recommendation for Conventional Spray application is a minimum atomizing pressure on paint of 3.5kg/cm² (50 ib/sq in), with a fluid pressure of 0.7kg/cm² (10 ib/sq in) with a spray nozzle size of 0.75 mm (30 thous).
A typical recommendation for Airless Spray application is a minimum working pressure on paint of 140kg/cm² (2000 ib/sq in) with a spray tip of 0.53mm (21 thou) at an angle of 80°

DRYING TIMES
Recoat
Full Cure
|
Single coat at standard thickness:
6 - 48 hours
7 days. The full system must be allowed to cure for 7 days at 25°C before putting into service. Please note that the reaction of epoxies commences immediately the two components are mixed. This reaction is temperature related and so the curing time will be approximately halved by a 10°C decrease in temperature.

PRE - APPLICATION
|
SURFACE PREPARATION
|
Surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free from all defective or poorly adhering material, dirt, grease or wax and be thoroughly rubbed down using a suitable abrasive paper and dusted off. If after thorough preparation, surfaces remain powdery, seal with one coat of an appropriate Primer (see below).
|
SURFACE PREPARATION
|
After suitable surface preparation the normal recommendation is to apply two coats of Dulux Coal Tar Epoxy Finish applied to the recommended film thickness. It is important to ensure that the substrate temperature is at least 3°C above dew point. The minimum temperature for application is 10°C. Relative humidity should not exceed 85%.
