Waterborne Epoxy Gloss Coating
|
|
A high performance, two-component chemically-cured
waterborne gloss epoxy coating for use as a hard, durable high
performance architectural coating (HIPAC).
USAGE
For use on interior properly prepared poured concrete, concrete
block, drywall, metal, wood. Ideal for hard usage areas of
schools, hospitals, restaurants, public buildings and factories.
May be used in areas subject to continuous high moisture such as
shower rooms.
Special Qualifications
Suitable for use on structural surfaces where there is a
possibility of incidental food contact in commercial food
preparation establishments, food processing plants and federally
inspected meat and poultry plants. USDA no longer requires or
furnishes product certification letters.

LIMITATIONS OF USE
Not recommended for immersion service. Exterior exposure will
cause early dulling and loss of gloss, but does not affect
protective properties. Epoxy coatings may yellow during
application and cure if exposed to the combustion by-products of
improperly vented fossil fuel burning heaters.

|
THINNING
|

SURFACE PREPARATION
|
All surfaces
must be sound, clean, dry, and free of oil, grease, dirt,
mildew, form release agents, curing compounds, efflorescense,
loose and flaking paint and other foreign matter. |

Cure at least 30 days before painting. pH must be 10.0 or
lower. Remove laitance and roughen unusually slick poured or
precast concrete by acid etching or sandsweeping. Follow
acid manufacturer's application and safety instructions.
Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Remove loose
aggregate. Prime with this product thinned 8:1 with water or
prime with waterborne epoxy primer TRU-GLAZE-WB 4030. Dry
overnight to recoat. Fill concrete block in areas not
subject to moisture with latex filler. In moisture prone
areas, fill with this product. Fillers must dry overnight
before coating.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES
|
The waterborne
components of this product generally allow use over most old
coatings. Old coatings should be tested for lifting. If they
lift, remove them. Wash to remove contaminants. Rinse
thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Dull glossy areas by
light sanding. Remove sanding dust. Remove loose paint. Prime
bare areas with primer specified under New Surfaces. |

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of
water and seek medical advice.
To remove splashes of paint from skin, use soap and water or a
recognised cleanser.
Keep away from food, drinks, animal feed and out of the reach
of children.
Keep away from combustible material.
Container must be stored in a cool, shaded place and tightly
closed in a secure, upright position.
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Work in a well-ventilated area and do not breathe in vapour or
spray.
When applying paint, wear suitable protective clothing, gloves
and eye/face protection.
In case of fire use foam, dry powder, AFFF, CO2 - Never use
water.
In case of a spillage, contain and collect spillage using sand
or earth and do not empty into watercourses, drains or the
environment.
Dispose of any paint waste in accordance with the appropriate
Environmental Quality Regulations.
